Opening Ceremony at the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery

Sunday, September 28, 2025
2:00 PM
Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery

25 Caroline Street North, Waterloo, ON N2L 2Y5

On September 28, the Sunday Singers were delighted to take part in the opening ceremony of Remembrance Every Day at the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery in Waterloo.

This beautiful event brought together many talented artists, including porcelain artist Tatyana Besedina, whose delicate and expressive works helped set the tone for an afternoon of art, reflection, and music.

Our program, “Women’s Prayers of Remembrance,” wove together traditional melodies – from wreath songs to lullabies – as a collective voice of memory and hope. Marking the 80th anniversary of Remembrance Day, it was a heartfelt reminder of the value of peace and the power of remembrance in everyday life.

We’re so thankful to the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery for hosting this inspiring exhibition, and to Tatyana Besedina for the beautiful clay poppies that became part of our costumes. Special thanks to John Short for his idea of creating the ceramic poppies – a perfect symbol of remembrance.
