Concert at ROM

November 19, 2024
Royal Ontario Museum
We are deeply grateful for the invitation and opportunity to perform a solo concert at one of Toronto’s iconic landmarks, the Royal Ontario Museum. It was an honor to have our artistry and skill as the Sunday Singers chamber choir, under the inspiring leadership of our conductor Alona Astasheva, so warmly received.
This concert was an incredible opportunity for us to contribute to the ROM’s mission while advancing our own: sharing the beauty of classical and contemporary choral music, celebrating the art of a cappella singing, and bringing joy to our audience.
The large and attentive audience enjoyed our performance with evident interest and delight. Even the youngest listeners were captivated by the beauty of academic a cappella singing. The long applause, calls for an encore, and questions about where to hear us again touched our hearts deeply.
Behind the scenes, we felt the unique spirit of the ROM, so vividly present in its exhibitions. Experiencing the private areas, we were moved by the dedication and passion of the staff who pour their love into preserving and sharing this treasure.
We sincerely thank the ROM team for their thoughtful, organized, and caring support of our choir throughout this event.
It was truly an unforgettable experience!

We are happy that the harmony of our a cappella singing contributed to the cause of peace and unity around the world. There’s something uniquely powerful about a cappella — voices joining together in perfect harmony without any instruments, symbolizing how humanity can come together as one. Just like in music, peace is built when we listen to each other and find our shared rhythm.
Thank you to everyone who shared this memorable evening with us!
